Mar. 22, 2013 - The Central Bank of Nicaragua (BCN, for its acronym in Spanish) recently stated in its Annual Report that Nicaragua’s economic growth reached 5.2 percent in 2012, indicating the country’s excellent economic performance during the year.
Additionally, Nicaraguan exports also indicated positive trend reaching US$5,004 million in 2012, a 16.6 percent increase versus the previous year, which totaled US$4,293 million. The country’s main export products continued to be coffee with US$522 million in 2012, followed by beef with US$451 million, gold with US$423 million, sugar cane with US$195 million and dairy products with US$172 million.
