How to get there

Most international visitors arrive to Nicaragua through the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in the capital city of Managua.

This airport operates 16 arrivals and 17 departures of international flights every day, to and from destinations such as:

• Miami (US) – 2 hours 30 minutes
• Houston (US) – 3 hours 30 minutes
• Atlanta (US) – 3 hours 45 minutes
• Panamá – 1 hour 35 minutes
• Costa Rica – 1 hour 20 minutes
• Guatemala – 1 hour 10 minutes
• El Salvador  – 50 minutes
  

Furthermore, airlines with presence in Nicaragua offer connections to other destinations in North, Central and South America, as well as in Asia and Europe. The main airlines in Nicaragua include:

If travelling by land, there are several bus services that offer trips to all of Central America. Currently, Nicaragua has three customs posts along the border with Honduras and one customs post in the border with Costa Rica. Trips to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and to San Jose, Costa Rica, may take approximately 8 hours.
