May 29, 2012 - PRONicaragua, the official investment promotion agency of Nicaragua, recently announced it will be hosting the country’s Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) Investment Forum: The Solution Near You! on July 12th and 13th in Managua.
The forum will showcase why Nicaragua has positioned itself as an attractive destination for BPO and ITO operations and the many investment opportunities the country offers to companies seeking to expand their operations and increase their global competitiveness.
International guest speakers include members of the Nearshore Executive Alliance (NEA) Board, industry experts and consultants, as well as business leaders around the world who have succeeded in this sector in Nicaragua.
During the event, speakers will cover topics including global outsourcing and regional industry trends, the value of nearshore locations, the evolution of outsourcing for emerging economies and Nicaragua’s competitive advantages in the industry, which include its advantageous cost structure, strategic location, availability of a young and talented labor force as well as of an English-Speaking personnel, attractive legal framework, and a modern telecommunications infrastructure.
Participants will be able to visit BPO companies successfully established in the country, witnessing the country’s enticing business climate and business opportunities.
Some of the BPO and ITO services provided in Nicaragua include customer service, administrative processes, software development, IT support, telemarketing, collections, business intelligence and financial analysis. There are currently 12 companies under the Free Zone Regime, employing more than 4,000 young and talented professionals. Since 2007, foreign direct investment (FDI) in the sector has surpassed US$60 million.
