American Company expands operations in Nicaragua

Managua, Nicaragua; February 16, 2016

Nicaragua's business process outsourcing (BPO) industry continues to grow strong. Serve5ive, a new US-capital company specialized in customer service and insurance support, is the most recent addition to the country's outsourcing industry, which now encompasses more than 20 companies. Serve5ive started operations in Managua on February 17th, and recently hosted an opening ceremony of its facilities, located in Las Mercedes Industrial Park.

The company has over 43 years operating in Fort Worth, Texas, but its history in Central America began three years ago, in Honduras. Don Owens, president of the company, together with his partners, María Cortez and Darrin Kirby, positively assessed Nicaragua's business environment and incentives for outsourcing operations, and thus decided to expand operations into Nicaragua. This new company represents an investment of US$1.7 million, which will generate around 90 jobs at full capacity.

Serve5ive was born out of small businesses' pursuit for competitive advantages. In that sense, Serve5ive provides many front and back-office services for US-based firms that seek to obtain cost savings for their organizations. Serve5ive currently offers services such as: bilingual customer service, translation services, payment processing, sales prospecting, data intake, data conversion services, IT support, quality control, audit functions, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) indexing. The company offers an environment of growth opportunities and stability for its employees.

It is estimated that the outsourcing industry in Nicaragua employs more than 6,500 bilingual people in Nicaragua. Services exported in 2014 reached US$84 million.
