Located in San Juan de Nicaragua, the new terminal will feature a 200 meter runway.

Edicro SA will be responsible for overseeing the project as it has been awarded the bid.

The works include a 365 square meters office for the airport, two piers, installation of a control tower, an operations office and a fire station.

Prensa.com.ni states, "The Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism opened an international bid in July to choose the company which will build on this airport, but it has not been awarded yet. The bid follows the established rules set by the IDB, entitled "Policies for the acquisition of projects and goods financed by the IDB (document GN-2349-7)."
